We just got home from seeing Patty last night at UBIC in Roosevelt, UT. We attend the festival every year, but this year my husband was absolutely thrilled that the entertainment was going to be Patty! We don't have a ton of people that come to our immediate area-- how could we beat Patty Loveless at a free show!?

Patty looked and sounded absolutely wonderful. I had only wished she would have done more of her Mountain Soul records, though. Looking back it looks like we missed out on the really big Mountain Soul tour last year, I wish we had had the chance to see her then! That is most definitely what we love to hear from her---- though I think my husband might listen to her sing the phone book and crow about how wonderful it is :P One of my all time favorite Patty songs though is "Nothin' But the Wheel"- and I was thrilled that she did it! Incredible - we had tears in our eyes, I don't know how she does it. "Blame it On Your Heart" was a fun sing along with the crowd - she may be one of the most powerful, emotional vocalists that we yearn for the ballads from, but she knows how to kick it up a notch AND include all her fans :)

She had a new band from the last time we had seen her but we recognized Deanie and Garry! It was nice to see some familiar faces - and Garry just blends with her beautifully! He reminds me of both Vince Gill and Jon Randall, and I love to hear them. Garry seems to be the jack of all trades, and plays everything on that stage! The new guitar player, Todd, was really fantastic! That boy has some talent!

Patty had a fantastic turn out -- our festival is usually pretty popular, and we had about 8 thousand people there this year. She went over wonderfully with the crowd, maybe this will bring her back again sometime!

Just a thank you to Patty for coming out our way, and a big thank you to this wonderful site- we found out about Patty being at UBIC way before anyone else did just by visiting this place! I'm not a big writer but I want to contribute to the best place around on the 'net for Patty. We will be sending photos along when I can figure out how- thanks PLN!
